The Private Members Social Club is attached to Derrington Village Hall and is run as a private business.
It was first opened in 1982 and was also managed by the Village Hall Committee. However, the Charities Commission decided that a Village Hall Committee could not administer a business so the Club formulated its own working committee.
Membership is renewed on an annual basis at a cost of £2 for adults and £1 for young persons who wish to be members of any of the clubs teams.
There are currently snooker, billiards, and cribbage teams. As these teams are affiliated to the Club, members of teams must also be members of the Club.
The village hall has wi-fi internet access so you can drink and surf the net.
The Club is currently open on Tuesdays 6-11 p.m., Fridays 6-12 midnight and Saturdays 4-11 p.m. Social distancing measures are in place and must be adhered to – a Committee member will guide you.
Within the main building is a games room containing a full size snooker table. Snooker is very popular in Derrington and the nearby town of Stafford with Derrington having 3 teams in the local snooker league.
The one end of the room has been renovated with bench seating having been installed, with tables and chairs to make a nice comfortable area. This is utilised on the mornings of Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the coffee mornings, which is quite popular.
